SEDATION
We appreciate that many people are uncomfortable about their dental visit, and some of us have a great deal of anxiety about visiting the dentist or receiving dental care.

Our practice facilities are designed to create as relaxing an environment as possible and our team make every effort to try to reduce any anxiety as much as possible.

At our practice you are in control. Our dentists will always explain what your options are and give you all the information you need to make informed choices.

We provide sedation in the form of intravenous (I.V.) sedation and the Buckley Practice was one of the first dental practices in the U.K. to offer this treatment. So for those of you whose anxiety is more serious and impacts upon your ability to receive dental care, then you can take advantage of our sedation clinic.

Our anxious patients who have had their treatment with sedation, tell us that not only do they feel more comfortable at the time but have found that it also reduces their anxiety levels about future visits.

DENTAL IMPLANTS
Implants have become the preferred method for tooth replacement in many situations. They have proved very successful in the long term and avoid preparation to adjacent teeth.

Implants are essentially "artificial roots" made from titanium that are placed in the jaw to replace missing teeth. A crown, bridge or denture can be attached to these implants to restore a gappy smile, stabilise a loose denture or to make eating easier and more comfortable.

The concept is remarkably simple and in well-planned cases, so is the treatment. There is a large amount of skill and knowledge to actually placing implants comfortably and safely. We are very fortunate to have Louis McArdle, a consultant oral surgeon at Guys' Hospital , available to place our implants here at The Buckley Practice. He was the first dentist in the UK to achieve an MSc in Implantology and has been placing implants for our patients since 2001.

We use a restorative led team approach, which is considered the gold standard for implant placement. This means our team of Implantologist, dentists and dental technicians work closely together to provide you with the highest quality implant and final restoration in the form of a crown, bridge or denture.
